How to use this prop firm comparison table
Start with the drawdown columns rather than price. A trailing maximum drawdown behaves very differently from a static one, and the daily limit determines how large a single position can safely be.
Next, check evaluation type. Multi-step evaluations usually cost less up front but take longer to reach a payout cycle. Compare the profit split alongside payout frequency, since a high split with a slow cycle is not automatically better.
Finally, confirm platform availability for your strategy. Futures programs and forex CFD programs are not directly comparable. Read the rules glossary if any column is unfamiliar.
Fields shown in brackets are placeholders awaiting verification. We publish "Check current terms" rather than estimate a value.
What makes the best prop firms in 2026?
The best prop firms balance three things: a realistic evaluation, a fair profit split and a payout cycle you can live with. In 2026, top prop firms are competing on transparency as much as headline price, so it pays to read the rule set before the marketing copy.
A low entry fee can look attractive, but if the daily drawdown is tight or the maximum loss trails your high-water mark, the cheapest program may be the hardest to pass. Our prop firm reviews break down each rule so you can see whether a program suits your style.
Forex prop firms remain the most popular category, but proprietary trading firms now cover futures, crypto and multi-asset strategies. Use the filters in the table above to narrow the list by market, platform and evaluation type.
If you are looking for a shortlist rather than a full comparison, visit our best prop firms page for ranked picks by trader type.
How we compare proprietary trading firms
We compare online prop firms on the data points that affect your bottom line: starting price, account size range, evaluation steps, profit split, maximum and daily drawdown, payout frequency, supported platforms and key trading rules such as news trading, weekend holding, EA usage and copy trading.
Every firm in the table is also covered in a dedicated review. If you want a deeper look at a single provider, open its review page from the table or browse the full prop firm directory for trading prop firms currently listed on PropFirm Scout.
Rankings and terms change as providers update their programs. We mark the last verified date on each review and recommend confirming the current offer directly with the firm before purchase.
Prop firm comparison FAQ
What is a prop firm?
A prop firm, or proprietary trading firm, provides traders with funded accounts in exchange for an evaluation fee and a share of profits. Instead of risking your own capital, you trade the firm’s capital and keep a percentage of the gains.
How do I choose the best prop firm?
Match the rule set to your strategy first. Scalpers need loose daily drawdowns and fast execution; swing traders need weekend holding and news-trading permissions. Then compare profit splits, payout frequency and platform support.
Are forex prop firms different from futures prop firms?
Yes. Forex prop firms usually offer CFD accounts on MetaTrader, cTrader or Match-Trader, while futures prop firms connect to NinjaTrader or TradingView and trade CME/Rithmic data. The fee structure, margin rules and payout cycles can differ significantly.
Where can I read prop firm reviews?
Each row in the comparison table links to a detailed review. You can also start from the reviews hub to see all proprietary trading firms we have covered.
